Written on D-line depth giving Swinney peace of mind this spring:

in response to radtiger:

My point exactly,That game was won in the final last minutes. We beat 1 "out of conference team" and think we are headed for a NC.....pleeease!!! if we was in any other conference, we wouldnt win no more than 3 or 4 games depending on which conference .Its sad that our fans are in such DENIAL

Then start wearing Garnet and Black and start cockadoodlin because everyone has faith in this Clemson team cept you. We beat the SEC team who beat A&M and was 1 busted play away from playing in the Champ game. With a win over Georgia and SCAR this year as well as undefeated conference play, what stops us from going to the champ game at the least?

Written on Optimistic outlook: Swinney says Tigers' D going to be 'much better...pretty good':

Yeah, next is the opposite of "LSwho" in Georgia, lost most players on defense and they have a good balanced offense. Losing Tavaris King doesn't help the Dawgs either

Written on In ACC-SEC country, not all non-conference schedules are created equal:

in response to 33dtb:

There's only two (2) real teams in the SEC and we just beat one of them (LSU).
Can't figure WHY we've been beaten 4 times by the gamecocks, but actually they've just now caught up with us on the "4-counts". We've both beaten other 4 in a row twice.
Course the series overall is STRONGLY in Clemson's favor.
And as one of our Trustees once famously said on a bumper sticker "celebrating" gamecocks 100 years of football......"Anybody can have a LOSING 100 years !"
.......................................

We've 4-peated the Lamecocks 8 times in our history to their 2,
Clemson 4-peats
1897-1900
1916-1919
1927-1930
1934-1940 (7!!)
80-83
88-91
97-2000
02-05
SCAR's 4-peats
51-54
09-12

Yeah, they've got quite a lot of catching up to do in the 4-peat department as well as the most wins in a row.

Credit that whole research done to me XD.

Strange how Clemson seems to lose far more players to academic issues than other teams. So trolls does that say something about us or them ?

I mean, I'm not a troll but Clemson holds itself way, way farther up with academic integrity than almost every "football-crazy" school. We proved that with kicking Bellamy and suspending Watkins mostly for the Auburn game, which was, at the time, a marquee match-up.

Yeah um
Texas A&M (5): Rice (65), Sam Houston State (FCS - 6), SMU (64), New Mexico (103)
compared to
Clemson (13): Georgia (7), S.C. State (FCS - 60), The Citadel (FCS - 32), South Carolina (8)
Granted Clemson faces 2 FCS schools.... A&M cant get out of the top 60 in OOC. These power indexes are based on full schedule not just OOC, So that includes IN-CONFERENCE PLAY, just like ESPN likes to "up" the power ranking of the SEC, a la the reason why A&M is #5 in this ranking without facing anyone OOC. Yeah, so the stupid coot, now looks even more stupid. Clemson has the top OOC schedule by leaps and bounds ahead of anyone else in the ACC-SEC, and now, this year, we employ the tactic of scheduling a cupcake, just like SCAR has before us for the past couple years, right before the rivalry game. Feeling at least 45 points scored by Clemson this year, with hopefully Isiah Thomas at LT.

Written on Is it 'way too early' to put a top-five tag on the Tigers?:

the Texas A&M spot at #2 just befuddles me to no end. Yes, Johnny Manziel is still the QB, they lose a 1st rounder in Ryan Swope as well as at least 3/5 OLineman, and some players on defense. I can't see this team being the class of the SEC, and I see Bama unleashing the ultimate revenge on them when they play, I'm talking the year after Cam Newton left revenge factor.

Written on Aiming high: No. 1 QB Deshaun Watson, No. 4 RB Dalvin Cook on Rivals Top 100:

in response to TUN:

I have heard a number of Deshaun Watson interviews and listening to him I don't think he should be considered a Clemson commit. I hope our staff continues to view him as a player that needs to be recruited all the way until signing day. If we have learned anything from this most recent recruiting cycle it is this: Whatever you do, keep persuading these guys that CU is the place to be---that there is no better place. Dabo is a great representative for our University and its football program. He knows what a special place Clemson is and he is great at selling it to these young men. We need Watson and I hope we will continue to make him the priority of the 2014 class.

According to his mama, which apparently is a major part of the recruiting now-a-days, she is a Clemson mama through and through, I think "her recruitment" is done (lol) that will eventually lead to his signature on signing day

Written on Swinney elated with defense-heavy '13 class:

in response to Apollyon_1:

Great recruiting class Clempson. Well done and I am sure the use of Gov. Haleys state plane to make recruiting trips made the ride much more enjoyable. Oops did I say that? If only AIM had an investigative reporter.

How the ill-informed make a fool of themselves... Clemson sold one of the university planes to the state. Every time Clemson uses the plane, they have to pay maintenance and docking fees to the state. Also the pilots of the "now-state" plane have to fly a certain number of hours to keep their licenses. The only reason Spurrier doesn't use the plane is he recruits mostly in-state, look at the recruiting class differences, most of Clemson's recruits are out-of state, Ebo Ogundeko is from New York, Ryan Carter is from Georgia, and Mackensie Alexander is from Florida. Most of USuC's recruiting class is from NC, SC, and GA, trips not necessarily needing a plane. Think before you type lol stupid coot

Written on Tigers in the driver's seat for BCS sugar; but what was the ACC thinking?:

in response to TCB1977:

It's just an opinion, agree to disagree that is fine with me. Let me make one thing clear to you, I've been a Tiger fan for 28 years of my 30+ years of living and I've sealed my "GOD" given right to that opinion both as a fan and a defender of this country. By the way my opinion was based off of what the commentator said for ESPN, that if Clemson wins out, they would have a shot at the ACC. Now who's the clueless one now "BUDDY"!! Why don't you tweet ESPN and ask them if they might have got there info wrong. "BUDDY"

No disrespect bro, but even if Clemson wins this game, FSU would win the tie breaker and go to the champ game, but... under ACC rules, Clemson and FSU would be co-champions of the Atlantic Division.

Written on Brent Venables taking first shot at stopping Tech's flex option:

in response to FutureClemsonFootballPlayer:

"Ah, yes, “cut” blocks, a staple of option offenses in which two players team on a defender, with one blocking above and one blocking below the waist."

As a former Offensive Lineman Mr. Reporter, what you have described is a chop block, which is a 15 yard penatly and is also incredibly dangerous to a players health. A "cut" block is when an OLineman sweeps the legs out from under a defender, hence, cutting the legs out from underneath him.

As in a singular Offensive Lineman, watch teams like Navy's Lineman who are in my opinion, better than GT's.

Written on Swinney says Chad Kelly rumors 'ridiculous,' not newsworthy:

Thanks Matt, sometimes, I get a little lazy with grammar when frustrated and mad. but yeah, I think officers coming to the classroom promotes say, 30, 100-yard sprints? in high school, we had to do 7 for every F and D on the report cards, 3 for every interim.

Written on Swinney says Chad Kelly rumors 'ridiculous,' not newsworthy:

in response to savagetiger:

Who said he would get a free A? Heres a thought, if you dont like Kelly then mind your own buisness and stay away from him.

bro, "I have a feeling IF i met the guy", that means I haven't met him. And He argues about the free "A" almost every day in that class. And everyday, the same guy comes in with the same story of how Kelly and the professor fight and tells us all. So yeah, I try to mind my own business but when he's making a fool of my school, I don't like it. Idk if you're an alumni or not, but I think an alum would feel as if he needs a disciplinary attention. There's a thought

Written on Swinney says Chad Kelly rumors 'ridiculous,' not newsworthy:

Actually, I had a friend in that class, he came into my class next period. He said Chad and the Physc professor have it out almost daily, and also officers were called in at the end of class because someone thought it would turn into an altercation. This kid is a punk, he feels as though he's entitled to everything and in football, he may be, but he doesn't deserve a free "A" where all students like me have to work for it. I have a feeling if I met the guy, I would wanna punch him in the face.

Written on Groin injury will lead to redshirt for Justin Parker :

in response to TigersN13:

why redshirt someone who'll never see the field? This is definetely a head scracther because how will he get ahead of anthony, steward, townsend, goodson, etc.

To give him the chance to play. If you've seen his plays on special teams, he hits hard. Also, the WLB is taken up by 2 seniors leaving an open sport for him to come out. If you apply that logic to players, why did Willy Korn ever get a chance to play? Why did Mike Bellamy ever get a chance to play when we have Andre Ellingon? and the one that hits hardest, why did Spiller play when we had Mayweather and Davis during his freshie year?

Written on National Champs: Does either Clemson or South Carolina have what it takes?:

Meh, The title contenders, I predict will be Alabama and USouthernCal with Matt Barkley and the best D in the Pac 10. I would really pull for USouthernCal to win. Clemson, if they beat FSU, will be ACC Champs again. With Aaron Murray or is it Andy? anyway, I dont see USC's depleted secondary defeating a vengeful Murray at QB

Written on No. 2 Most Valuable Tiger: WR Sammy Watkins:

I understand you reacting as you did. I have reviewed the conversation many times. It is both the fault of the Clemson fans and you on this website to getting where it is now. And yes, I never said you couldn't post on this website. We may have freedom of speech, but that doesn't mean I can go up to the President and call him names without facing punishment. Everyone just needs to calm down, get off the computer, and go outside to do something, If you can't go outside, watch TV or something, just cool off. And simple, you are spot on, I've met some Clemson fans I wanted to punch in the face. And as for your comments from another website, why post them here, where some people do not know what you're talking about? This is why you were attacked. And yes, Dabo will punish him, if not, call him whatever you want, Sammy deserves to be punished but until then, do not insult Dabo's integrity especially after Bellamy and that 5'6 reciever who got kicked off after getting into trouble too many times. And yes, I am thankful for your serving in the military, but you have no right to flaunt it around like you were the only one fighting. We may can "say the things we want in the name of freedom", but that doesn't mean it can't go without punishment or retort. So I implore everyone to watch what they say on here in the future if you dont want this to happen again

Written on No. 2 Most Valuable Tiger: WR Sammy Watkins:

Whoa guys, calm down. This is getting way outta hand. Simpleman, I dont care if you're a UCLA fan, or in the military. You're a Georgia fan you claim. Why don't you talk about what should be the best QB in the SEC next year in Murray. Why don't you complain about having a very underrated defense that held LSU for 1 full half. Do something other than call people out on A WEBSITE. The website is open, granted that, but it is made for Clemson fans to look and see what is happening in the college football program, not for those who would bash players and coaches. Even if you live in Anderson, is it wrong for one to boast of another's team? No it's not. Boast your own team, say the Bulldogs will beat Clemson when they play, BUT, do not insult the intergrity of Clemson coaches and athletes nor get into childish arguements over a website. As far as your comments towards Sammy, YES, everyone in Clemson thinks he should be penalized by suspension for 1 game. No, you do not have to rub it in our faces, It isn't the fault of the fans, it's Sammy's own fault and he will pay for it. Dabo took the test of Mike Bellamy and passed with Flying colors, so watch what you say about my future coach, because I could throw out more knowledge about today's college football than you could ever imagine.

Now, fellow Clemson Tigers, I don't really know if this guy is a troll, ignorant, or just another opinionated fan of another team. But, even if this man comes trolling through all the posts on this website, the best thing to do is to "not feed the troll", therefore saying do not call him out, he loves the attention and will try to keep it as much as he can. It is sad, but some people actually do that instead of working at their job, taking care of kids, or even truly fighting for our country. Now Georgia fans are in my top 3 of horrible fans and everyone else in the SEC will agree. 1 is LSU who tries to tip over the bus when facing a team like Western Carolina. 2 is USC, other teams hate coming to USC stadium because of the drunkeness, trash-throwing, and other acts of no sportsmanship, but Georgia is the #3 because of the "bow down to us" mentality that some of the fans carry around with them. Just do not respond, just respect their opinion and move on, do not get carried on by a monologue by an ignorant fan of another team that doesn't follow the going-ons of our team.

Thats all I gotta say. I may be young, but I hope yall learn. Go Tigers!

Written on College football's four-team playoff is set. Now what?:

Well i guess the question is.... what if Boise State or another Houstan happens? What will these guys vote for? the SEC like ESPN loves to do? Or take the 12-0 team that makes a living off of mid-major college teams?

Written on College football's four-team playoff is set. Now what?:

No no no... Alabama didn't belong in the Championship game and you know it. Even if LSU got their butts handed to them. You think if Clemson and USC played 2 times year, 1 team would win both times? this is the same thing. I am a firm believer in that Oklahoma State, even with loosing to Iowa State, should've gone to the championship because they won their conference and made it past every strong opponent they came up against. Still, they pulled a "Clemson" and choked against a minor league team. But in no-way should Alabama have gone to that game. It should've be Stanford or OSU, hands down.

EHHHH... my top 5 are 5. Stephone Anthony 4. Sammy Watkins 3. DeAndre Hopkins 2. Tajh Boyd 1. Andre Ellington.
Sammy at 4th because he will be doubled all year long and we would like to see how he does against that kind of coverage especially with the CB talent of FSU and NCSU.
DeAndre at 3rd because what will he do with the coverage drawn onto Sammy and can he output the same success that Sammy did?
2. Tajh... Tajh, Tajh, Tajh... where to start. Well, if he mimics the first 8 games of last, all year long, then we should be in the 4 team contention for the Natty.
1. THE MOST IMPORTANT... lol is our RB. If we cannot set the run, like Chad Morris' offense needs to have, then the success will be limited. Even though we had a lot more success with the pass last year, we need to rely on the run to equal out our dangerous duel-sided offense.
But, as to Greg Wallace, good job with the list. I totally agree with each pick and keep up the good work :D

Written on Spring struggles will create fall problems for Dabo Swinney, Clemson:

in response to beckel:

On the positive side, this gives Dabo an excuse for our opening day loss to Auburn.

You're not a Clemson Fan for any sport. Don't even try to be. If you expect losses like you do, then you don't think our team is any good and have no confidense, therefore, even if you contribute to Clemson, as little as you say you do, a true fan always expects the Tigers to win every game and find every excuse of why the Tigers will win every game. So you might as well close this account and set up one on Black and Garnet.com because their fans are expected to turn on the coach if they lose more than 1 game now-a-days. Onto the Auburn game, We have Matavius Bryant- 2nd fastest on the team, whose 6'4 and can be the next Calvin Johnson if he wanted to be, Charone Peake, who looked amazing last year when he got the ball, also Jaron Brown, Adam Humphries, Brandon Ford, and last but definatley not least, the MVP of Spring, the guy whose records were broken by Sammy, DeAndre Hopkins, who has had a great Spring and apparently he's faster, stronger, and a better catcher. So I don't think loosing Sammy is that big of a loss when you look at the rest of our wide recievers. So shut your mouth if you're gonna be negative. -From a true Clemson fan

4 teams. UNC, NC State, Duke, and Wake Forest are all in North Carolina. John Swofford is a UNC man, therefore, most of his decisions are UNC based. Therefore, since UNC is and forever will be, a basketball school. He makes decisions to help the basketball schools. I really hope you don't think that adding Pitt and Syracuse was a football decision. Take away this past year, Syracuse stunk and then Pitt just stinks. But, amazingly, they're both really good in basketball. John Swofford and his "baby-blue" fanatics need to be kicked out of the ACC offices.
