Why be excited: Geohaghan played out-of-position as a linebacker in high school, but still excelled as an all-around athlete. He projects as a college safety. He isn't afraid to hit and has excellent speed; he showed at the Shrine Bowl that he likes contact and played well against the run, a tough, physical player.
You may not know: He was a long-jumper in high school, recording a 23-foot leap as a sophomore. He is a former teammate of rising sophomore defensive back Bashaud Breeland.
How he fits into the depth chart: With a new defensive coordinator in Brent Venables, positions will be open in the secondary. If Geohaghan can impress in preseason practice, he could easily see some snaps early.
