Why be excited: As an early enroll, Jones will have a chance to make up ground in his bid to join the mix for early playing time on Clemson's offensive line. His combination of height, strength and quickness make him a prototypical candidate for development as a left tackle. He's worked his way back from a knee injury that cost him his junior season, and was impressive during Shrine Bowl practices working against a talented North Carolina line that included future Clemson teammate Carlos Watkins.
You may not know: Jones comes to Clemson from Ninety Six High School, which also produced All-ACC running back, Ronald Williams - the father of current Clemson freshman defensive tackle DeShawn Williams.
How he fits into the depth chart: Due to the loss of both starting tackles - Landon Walker and Phillip Price - Jones could compete immediately for a backup tackle spot. Ideally, he'll redshirt and eventually compete for playing time in 2013, already with two spring practices under his belt.
