Why be excited: He is a lightning-fast back who has home-run speed and the ability to score whenever he touches the ball, a la C.J. Spiller. He has excellent hands and could line up in the slot, much as Spiller did, as well as return punts or kicks, an area where Clemson could use help following Marcus Gilchrist's graduation. He has the ability to make an immediate impact. He has excellent change of direction, but must put on bulk to be an every-down, between-the-tackles back.
You may not know: Bellamy's grandmother graduated from high school with Clemson offensive line coach Brad Scott, his primary recruiter.
How he fits into the depth chart: Bellamy will challenge for immediate playing time behind rising junior Andre Ellington. Look for him to get as many touches as possible as a freshman.
