Why be excited: The Tigers have kept their punting game as a top priority by replacing Dawson Zimmerman with a player from the same elite pool of kickers. Dabo Swinney offered Pinion last summer after watching him kick at camp. "The ball just explodes off his foot," said Swinney, who described Pinion as "a giant" who reminds him of former Alabama teammate and long-time NFL punter Chris Mohr. Pinion is still improving, having boosted his punting average from 40 yards to 46 yards between his junior and senior seasons.

You may not know: Pinion is Clemson's first USA Today All-America kicker since Chris Gardocki.

How he fits into the depth chart:After getting his feet wet this spring, the early-enrolling Pinion should go into preseason camp as the Tigersl projected starter.
