B.J. Goodson

Why be excited: A quick, active linebacker, he racked up 156 tackles as a senior and is considered one of the top linebackers available in South Carolina. He has excellent intensity and work ethic and also played wide receiver, catching 16 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns as a junior.

You may not know: Like defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Kevin Steele, he is a Pee Dee native.

How he fits into the depth chart: Clemson's thin linebacker corps gives him the opportunity to potentially play right away this fall. The Tigers badly need linebackers, and he's the latest in a line of Pee Dee products, following Quandon Christian, Tig Willard and Anthony Waters, among others.
