Milan Richard

Why be excited: Richard is a big-body, playmaking tight end who's taken his passion for Clemson seriously, building relationships with fellow Tiger signees and reaching out to uncommitted prospects. He picked Clemson over a Who's Who group of SEC and national contenders.

You may not know: Richard's mom, Veronica, is the older sister of Georgia legend Herschel Walker and was an All-America sprinter at Georgia in the 1980s. His dad, Bill, was also an All-America track athlete for the Bulldogs. In advising his nephew on the recruiting process, Walker urged Richard to “do what you want to do – what's best for you.” Richard told his uncle “for you, that was Georgia; for me, it's Clemson.”

How he fits into the depth chart: He'll join fellow freshman Cannon Smith in competing for a spot in a deep and talented tight end rotation that includes sophomore Jordan Leggett and Jay Jay McCullough, junior Stanton Seckinger and senior Sam Cooper.
