Chris Register

Why be excited: In most any front-seven group, Register will be the fastest player in the lot, showing explosive move to the ball when reading the play. He has the size that he can put on weight and be the next great Clemson pass rusher (a la Vic Beasley), but he's also pretty comfortable at linebacker, from the interior out.

You may not know: Register hails from Dudley High (N.C.), where Clemson linebacker great Jeff Davis played. Davis holds the Clemson single-season record for tackles (175), as a member of the college football hall of fame.

How he fits into the depth chart: With two seniors moving on from starting roles, Register's chance to play early certainly comes at linebacker. He is one of four Clemson linebacker signees and redshirt linebacker Dorian O'Daniel joins the fray in 2014 as well.
