Scott Pagano

Why be excited: Clemson won a long-distance backyard battle with Alabama, LSU and Florida for Hawaii's top-ranked big man. At 6-4, he'll bring height and strength to the Tigers' interior defensive line, further building up an area that was the most improved on Clemson's team last fall.

You may not know: Pagano's mom attended Clemson and he has family in Easley, S.C. He committed to Clemson after an eight-day trip with his mother last summer that included stops in Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa and Gainesville.

How he fits into the depth chart: Dan Brooks is looking to build a deep stable of interior defensive linemen, but with Grady Jarrett, Josh Watson, DeShawn Williams, D.J. Reader and Carlos Watkins all returning, a redshirt year will be among the possibilities for Pagano.
