Cordrea Tankersley

Why be excited: Tankersley has already displayed his perseverance after falling just short of qualifying, both out of high school and after spending a semester at Hargrave Military. He's back at home this winter and spring, working on getting the one ACT point he needs to qualify. Once he enrolls, the Tigers will gain the talents of one of 2011 top in-state players - a big-frame safety who could be just as effective as a wide receiver.

You may not know: One of South Carolina's top sprinters during his high school career, he's the nephew of NFL veteran Dwayne Bates - another Aiken-Silver Bluff product.

How he fits into the depth chart: There is plenty of opportunity at the safety position for Tankersley to earn early playing time.
