Why be excited: Boulware put on a show during his postseason all-star game appearances at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, where he won defensive MVP honors, and the Under Armour All-America Bowl, where he started and served as a team captain. He drew practice raves in both settings for his tough, hard-nosed playing style, and had takeaways in both games. He's an old-school middle linebacker who will give Brent Venables new options in how he deploys his linebackers.
You may not know: Boulware hopes to join his brother Garrett, a sophomore catcher, on the Clemson baseball team. He earned first-team all-state honors last spring from the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association.
How he fits into the depth chart: He's projected to work at the middle linebacker position behind rising senior Spencer Shuey and rising junior Stephone Anthony.
