K.J. McDaniels comes up 'short' in NBA Combine measureables

Former Clemson star, shot-blocking champ measures 6-4.5 in sock feet

K.J. McDaniels' Clemson accomplishments just became an inch and a half more impressive.

Measuring in for the NBA Combine in Chicago, the ACC's master shot-blocker came up short of 6-5 in his sock feet, officially listed at 6-4.5.

He measured 6-6 in shoes.

McDaniel has a 6-11.25 wing span and weighed 195.6 pounds.

Yeah, it may be impressive. But it's not GOOD news if you're KJ McDaniels. He's already undersized to be a 3 in the NBA so measuring short at the combine doesn't help. And he doesn't have the perimeter skills to play the 2. His days of weak-side shotblocking will be over in the NBA. If he makes a career in the NBA he'll do it as a lockdown on-ball defender. Think Tony Allen.
