The oddsmakers figure Clemson has just about as good a chance as anybody to win the NIT.

The third-seeded Tigers, 20-12, open tournament play tonight at home against 25-8 Georgia State, which missed the NCAA's big dance by the margin of a one-point overtime loss in the Sun Belt tournament championship game.

Clemson is listed by The Associated Press as an 8-1 shot to win the tournament, narrowly behind Florida State, Georgetown and Minnesota - all at 7-1. St. John's is listed at 6-1, and SMU is the favorite at 5-1.

Georgia State's odds are listed at 35-1, while High Point, Florida Gulf Coast and Robert Morris bring up the rear with 250-1 odds.

NIT play gets underway tonight with nine games. The remaining seven first-round games will be played on Wednesday.

Clemson's game tonight against Georgia State will tip off at 9 p.m., with television coverage by ESPNU. General admission adult tickets are $10, with tickets available for teens (13-18) for $4. Children 12 and under and Clemson students get in free.
