The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA)-Piedmont Chapter will meet at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 16, at Palmetto Ridge, 10238 Clemson Blvd., Seneca.

Following lunch, Daniel Rodriguez, Clemson walk-on wide receiver, will be the guest speaker. Rodriguez, attending Clemson on the GI Bill, is a decorated war hero who served in the U.S. Army from 2006-’10. During his tour, Sergeant Rodriguez was wounded in the Battle of Kamdesh in Afghanistan and earned a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal with Valor Device.

All commissioned and warrant officers (former, active, retired, reserve or guard) of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, NOAA and the U.S. Public Health Service are encouraged to attend and also eligible for membership.

MOAA-Piedmont Chapter is an opportunity for military officers to join together for fellowship, meals and programs. Meetings are held bimonthly, rotating between Anderson and Clemson. Chapter dues are $15 annually.
