Clemson defensive back Bashaud Breeland returns an interception against Georgia Tech.

Junior Clemson cornerback Bashaud Breeland is expected to declare early for the NFL draft.

Yahoo Sports and ESPN have confirmed the Allendale native will put in his name in May's pro selection. Yahoo's report has him already obtaining representation.

Breeland was Clemson's and among the ACC's leaders in passes defended (14) and interceptions (4). He totaled 56 tackles, 5 TFL and two sacks.

After battling injury issues last season, Breeland played all thirteen 2013 contests, averaging 4.3 tackles per game.

Joining him on the defensive side may be All-American defensive end Vic Beasley, who posted the third-highest sack total (13) in Clemson history this season. Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney is expected to sit down with the draft-eligible juniors this week.

Breeland leaving will hurt, though it opens up the doors for all the young talent behind him.
However I wish Breeland would stay and be a sure fire leader on our defense next season. Him leaving now bothers me because his stock could rise to 2nd round and maybe late 1st round next season..... Not now. He will not get his just due now like he thinks. I wish him well but I think he could use one more year.
