Chad Kelly's fresh start will apparently include a junior college detour.

East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Miss., has announced Kelly as an addition to its 2014 recruiting class.

Kelly competed for Clemson's starting quarterback job during spring practice, but was dismissed from the program two days after the spring game following a string of incidents, including conflict with coaches over playing time and in-game decisions.

A record-setting high school quarterback at St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo, N.Y. and the nephew of Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, he will play at East Mississippi next fall and would then be able to transfer to another four-year school without restrictions.

He would have two years of eligibility remaining.

Good chance he ends up at Syracuse come 2015.

Yeah, their coach seems like a jerk. So it fits.

Yeah, well, the bigger reason is their starting QB this year is a senior and at lot of the other back ups are not the athlete that Kelly is. The school recruited Kelly hard at the same time we did. He would probably be a crowd draw for Cuse.

And if you think lowly of Kelly, you might also think he would jump at the chance to prove himself in the ACC. And play against Clemson.

Jerk is in the eye of the beholder, anyway.

Oh, I think jerk is the concensus here. So, two of a kind if he goes to Syracuse.
He won't amount to much.

I wouldn't say he's a sure thing to Syracuse by any stretch. He's in the backyard of the SEC now. You think it's a coicidence that he's less than an hour and a half from Tuscaloosa? I'm betting he's got his eye on Alabama. Alabama has an open competition at QB this season and the favorite to win the job is Jacob Coker who is a graduate transfer from FSU with only 1 year of eligibility left. He's projected to win the job and he's not even on campus or practicing with the team yet. Add in the fact that the Alabama QBs that played in the spring game stunk it up and he could transfer in there and have a good chance to win the job.
