Women's Golf: Clemson seeded No. 2 for inaugural ACC tournament

The Clemson women’s golf team will compete in their first ACC Championship April 17-19th in Greensboro, North Carolina. The 54-hole tournament will take place at Sedgefield Country Club and features 11 teams from the league, six of which are ranked in the top 25.

The Tigers are ranked 12th in the Golfstat poll, 14th in the Golf World Coaches poll, and 17th by Golfweek. They enter the tournament having finished sixth or better in all of their tournaments this season and freshman Ashlan Ramsey enters with two individual wins.

Duke University comes in as the top seed in the 26th annual ACC Championship. They have won 18 ACC Championships including the last two championships. Clemson is the second seed and Wake is the third seed. The three teams will tee off together in Thursday’s opening round, with tee times from 10:30-11:10 a.m.

Ramsey, ranked as the number one amateur in the world by Golfweek, leads the team with a 72.15 stroke average and six top 10 individual finishes. She is ranked 15th in the nation by Golfstat and 21st by Sagarin.

Sloan Shanahan is ranked 29th by Golfstat and 50th by Sagarin. She enters with a 73.48 stroke average and three top 10 finishes. McKenzie Talbert enters with a 74.50 stroke average, Lauren Salazar 75.08 and Jessica Hoang 78.15.
