With the football season in progress, recruiting activity has moved from the spotlight to the background. But there's still plenty of important business at hand for Clemson's coaches, particularly as they build offer lists for 2015 and 2015.
Over the past couple of weeks, the Tigers' staff has extended more than half a dozen new offers.
For the 2015 cycle, Clemson has offered Nyheim Hines, a RB/DB/WR 'athlete' from Garner, N.C.; wide receiver Juval Molette of Randleman, N.C.; wide receiver Shadell Bell of Decatur, Ga.; quarterback Blake Lynch of Troup, Texas; and tight end Jackson Harris of Columbia, Tenn.
The Tigers have also offered 2016 targets Tavien Feaster, a running back from Spartanburg, S.C., and Demetris Robertson, an 'athlete' from Savannah, Ga.
Gamecocks Lose Commitments From Georgia Teammates: A pair of Georgia teammates - one a former Clemson target - have decommitted from South Carolina and reopened their recruiting.
Wesley Green, a 2014 cornerback, and Arden Key, a 2015 defensive end, from Martin Luther King High in Lithonia, Ga., announced their decisions last week.
Green, who is ranked among the top 20 cornerback prospects in the nation, also had offers from Clemson, Georgia, Auburn and LSU before committing to the Gamecocks over the summer.
The players' high school coach told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that "a lack of communication" from USC's staff contributed to the reversal.
Tar Heels Nab Running Back: North Carolina has received a commitment from 2016 running back Antonio Williams of New London, N.C. He also had offers from Georgia and N.C. State.
FSU Gets Tight End: Florida State has picked up a commitment from 6-6, 230-pound tight end Ryan Izzo from Sparta, New Jersey. He's rated No. 10 at his position by 247Sports.
Georgia Tech Building OL: Georgia Tech's Paul Johnson has added commitments from three offensive linemen this month - 6-2, 280-pound Gary Brown of Tampa, Fla., 6-4, 270-pound Andrew Marshall of Cumming, Ga., and 6-4, 295-pound Jake Whitley of North Augusta, SC.
