With the Tigers pushed from beginning to end in one of their toughest tests of the season, the Clemson coach staff relied heavily on its top-tier players to pull out a 24-14 victory over Boston College on Saturday.

Three of the five offensive line starters ( Ryan Norton, Brandon Thomas and Tyler Shatley) played every snap, while Kalon Davis sat out for eight plays and Shaq Anthony for four.

With Germone Hopper serving a suspension, four players got most of the playing time at the wide receiver spots, with Sammy Watkins (66) and Adam Humphries (62) playing a season-high in snaps, as did Matt Porter (15).

At tight end, both Stanton Seckinger and Sam Cooper had season highs, as did running back Rod McDowell and defensive tackle DeShawn Williams.
