Clemson has moved up one spot, into a tie for No. 3 with Ohio State, in the USA Today Coaches' Poll, which was released on Sunday.
Alabama retained the No. 1 spot, with Oregon No. 3. Clemson had been ranked fourth, one spot behind the Buckeyes, for the past month.
Stanford holds the No. 5 spot, with Florida State sixth. The Seminoles moved up two spots after routing Maryland 63-0.
Georgia dropped one place to seventh after beating Tennessee in overtime. Louisville is eighth, Texas A&M ninth, and Oklahoma 10th.
LSU heads the second 10, followed by South Carolina, UCLA, Miami, Baylor, Michigan, Florida, Northwestern, Washington and Oklahoma State.
Virginia Tech made its debut at the No. 25 spot, behind Texas Tech, Fresno State, Northern Illinois and Nebraska.
The Tigers remained third in the AP Top 25. The top five remained unchanged for the fourth straight week, with Alabama followed by Oregon, Clemson, Ohio State and Stanford.
