Chad Morris talked Tajh Boyd, the season's three-game finish and more Monday...
Tajh Boyd's playing well at the right time: He played well (at Virginia). It was good to see over the last two ballgames playing into that role that he knows he's capable of playing. I'm excited about his consistency. That's the biggest thing right now. He knows there's three ballgames left plus the bowl game and now let's finish out strong. He's obviously had a great career here and he has a chance to even better that. He's had a really great work week. Let's see how he finishes up.
'Only the strong survive' this month: Everybody is banged up at this point in the season. We're not the only team that has injuries. That's not an excuse. It's a mental grind right now. Only the strong survive in the month of November. That's what this month is about. I think our guys are ready to go for these final few weeks. It's starts Thursday night in front of a great crowd and I'm excited to see these guys back in action.
O-line still in flux: It's been that way all year long. The consistency there at that position hasn't materialized with one definite guy where they say, 'This is my position.' I don't know if we'd cleared that up by all means. Some guys have earned the right to play a bit more. It's been that all way all year long and that hasn't changed.
Younger players in action at Virginia: There were some good things from all the guys we saw with some of the young guys and how they executed. There's some guys that they're going to get more playing time. How much? They did a good job and what they're supposed to do. We're very pleased with those guys. We've had some good competition in practice over the last couple weeks.
RB health a question mark: It obviously effects (the offense) a lot. Zac (Brooks) has worked out this past week. He's been out there. C.J. (Davidson) is doubtful. Hot Rod has been our go-to guy. D.J. has played sparingly. We hope to have Zac ready go full-speed Thursday night.
