The Oakland Raiders are holding their breath.
Three days into preseasons training camp and Jacoby Ford is back on the injured list, this time with an unspecified injury that forced him to miss the end of the team's third workout.
Coach Dennis Allen says Ford's injury, along with ailments that have sidelined several teammates, isn't thought to be serious.
"I really still don’t see any of those injuries as being real serious injuries, but obviously we have to continue to work as fast as we can to get these guys back out here," Allen said. "Every day that they’re not out here they’re losing ground. We have to do a great job of getting those guys rehabbing and getting them back out here as soon as possible.”
One Raiders' website made the point that Ford's injuries have become so frequent that "Raiders fans have gotten to the point of wanting to wrap him in industrial bubble wrap."
After working throughout the offseason to come back from the foot injury that sidelined him for much of the past two seasons, Ford was dinged up during minicamp earlier this summer, as well.
