Football Recruiting - Montravius Adams

It's been a long haul on recruiting trail for Montravius Adams. Clemson was there at the start, and the Tigers will be there at the finish.

Clemson, which nearly two years ago delivered Adams with his first college scholarship offer, will get its final in-person shot at Adams on Friday when Dabo Swinney visits with the Dooly County, Ga. star.

Adams, who is ranked as the top defensive tackle in the nation by Rivals, Scout and ESPN, will see coaches from Auburn and Alabama on Thursday, and then will take an official visit to Auburn over the weekend. He visited Georgia last week, following trips to Clemson and Alabama.

Clemson Jumps In Scout Ratings: Clemson's list of 2013 commitments has jumped from No. 27 to No. 18 in Scout's team rankings after the website network included prep school commitments Shaq Lawson and Cordrea Tankersley in its ratings.

Both players attended Hargrave Military last fall after signing with Clemson in 2012. Lawson - who is rated as the nation's No. 1 prep school player by Rivals - is already enrolled, while Tankersley plans to join the Tigers this summer.

Clemson's class is now ranked 14th by ESPN, 18th by Scout, 19th by 247Sports and 21st by Rivals.

North Picks Tennessee: Long-time Clemson recruiting target Marquez North of Charlotte, N.C. has announced his commitment to Tennessee. Earlier, North had eliminated Clemson from consideration and had narrowed his choices to North Carolina and the Vols. He's ranks as high as No. 3 among wide receivers nationally.

UCLA Expecting Woulard Commitment: Reports from the west coast are anticipating a UCLA commitment from Winter Park, Fla. quarterback Asiantii Woulard, who visited Clemson two weeks ago. The Tigers' coaches have apparently pulled off the four-star prospect. UCLA is hoping for a package deal with Woulard and Orlando, Fla. wideout Jeff Badet, who accompanied Woulard on his visit to Los Angeles last weekend.

Florida Teammates To Visit: Three highly-rated teammates from Tarpon Springs, Fla. plan to visit Clemson for 'junior day' on Saturday - junior wide receiver Artavis Scott, junior offensive lineman Mason Cole, and sophomore wide receiver George Campbell. Clemson also expects a visit from wide receiver Jacob McCrary of Miami.

Also scheduled to visit are North Carolinians Jeb Blazevich, a tight end from Charlotte; Jefferie Gibson, a defensive back from Hope Mills; and Elijah Hood, an 'athlete' from Charlotte.

Knoxville, Tenn. defensive back Todd Kelly Jr. is also expected to attend.

I think landing Adams will be a real test for how good of a recruiter Dabo really is. Adams would be huge if we can get him. I think Carl Lawson will not happen. Nevertheless, I think we have a solid class especially on the defensive side of things and Adams would elevate the class from strong to very strong. Adams, Pagano, S. Lawson, Dane Rogers on the line--I like it and with O'Daniel and Boulware and our DBs and Ath.s, we are building much needed depth. Much needed to hang with the big boys in the SEC.

How could I forget EBO. He is a beast and maybe this year's best kept secret. His potential impact is very significant. outstanding pick up.
