A week ago, T.J. Green was an unranked, unheralded 6-2, 190-pound receiver/defensive back committed to play football at Alabama-Birmingham.

Today, Green is an ESPN four-star 'athlete,' ranked as one of the top 20 players in Alabama.

What happened?

The Sylacauga High standout picked up a late offer from Auburn and committed to Clemson.

Green, we can assume, was just as good when he was committed to UAB as he is now that he's committed to Clemson. Someone noticed, and Green's stock soared. Dabo Swinney might call him another Adam Humphries or Tyler Grisham.

With Green and Marcus Edmond in the fold, Clemson now ranks 14th in ESPN's class rankings.

UCLA 'wows' Woulard: Winter Park, Fla. quarterback Asiantii Woulard, who emerged a little over week ago as a Clemson recruiting target for 2013, visited UCLA last weekend and will announce a decision - expected to be between the Bruins and the Tigers - on signing day.

UCLA strengthened its position after putting on a show that included, according to 247Sports, "the scene at the world-renown W Hotel and seeing hip-hop mogul P. Diddy at trendy Lucky Strike Bowl in Hollywood" and "a look at the Playboy Mansion, from a distance in a vehicle."

Significantly, perhaps, UCLA has made a scholarship offer to Woulard's friend, wide receiver Jeff Badet of Orlando. Both Badet and Woulard were at one time committed to South Florida, who de-committed after Skip Holtz was hired as head coach.

Woulard made an official visit to Clemson the weekend of January 18-19.

Tigers Holding First Junior Day: On the eve of signing day, 2013, Clemson will hold its first 'junior day' this weekend. The event serves as an introductory look at Clemson for 2014 prospects.

Among those attending will be 2014 Clemson commitments Jae'lon Oglesby of Daniel High in Central, S.C. and Deshaun Watson of Gainesville, Ga.

Others include in-state prospects C.J. Fuller (DB/RB) of Easley, Kevin Crosby (LB/ATH) of Bamberg-Ehrhardt, and Taylor Hearn (OL) of Williston.

Attendees from Georgia will include wide receiver Demarre Kitt of Tyrone, defensive back D.J. Smith of Marietta, linebacker Raekwon McMillan of Hinesville, and tight end Milan Richard of Savannah.
