Freshman guard Jordan Roper will miss Clemson's basketball game against Virginia today because of a sprained ankle.
The injury occurred during practice on Friday.
Roper is one of the Tigers' top perimeter shooters, and coach Brad Brownell was counting on his contributions against a Virginia defense designed, he said, to force opponents into taking guarded perimeter shots.
Brownell had praised Roper's performance against Duke, saying that he played "fearlessly" against the top-ranked Blue Devils at Cameron Indoor Stadium, even though he made just one-of-nine shot attempts.
Roper is averaging 6.8 points per game so far this season.
