Former Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele has rejoined Nick Saban's coaching staff at Alabama in a support role, the website Al.com is reporting.
Steele left Clemson after the 2011 season, and the Tigers' blowout loss to West Virginia in the Orange Bowl.
Steele served as Saban's first defensive coordinator at Alabama in 2007 and was its defensive head coach in 2008.
He joined Dabo Swinney's staff at Clemson in January, 2009, after Swinney was named head coach.
Steele previously served as an assistant at Florida State under Bobby Bowden, as an assistant with the Carolina Panthers, and as head coach at Baylor.
