Six of the ACC's dozen baseball teams remain unbeaten after opening weekend series, though three teams lost games to the snowstorm that hit central North Carolina.
Virginia Tech entered Baseball America's top 25, at No. 24, after sweeping four games at UNC-Wilmington's tournament. The Hokies defeated Kent State 10-9 and 8-1, and beat UNC-W 9-0 and 7-2.
No. 19 Florida State, Miami and No. 16 Georgia Tech all swept three game series. The Seminoles beat Rhode Island 11-5, 6-2, and 8-6 (in 10 innings on Sunday). The Hurricanes swept Rutgers 5-4, 4-1 and 7-0, while the Yellow Jackets defeated Akron 3-0, 17-2 and 5-3.
No. 1 North Carolina and Virginia both went 2-0. The Tar Heels defeated Seton Hall 1-0, where UNC lefty ace Kent Emanuel pitched a complete game shutout, and 17-2, and the Cavaliers defeated East Carolina 14-4 and 13-9.
Wake Forest went 3-1, with wins over Alcorn State 3-0, 17-2 and Louisiana-Monroe 11-4. The Deacons also lost to ULM 9-0.
Clemson won two of three over William & Mary, winning 2-0 and 12-2 and losing 11-2.
Duke won its opener over Florida 4-3, but the Gators then won 4-2 and 16-5 to claim the series.
Boston College beat Elon 7-6, but lost to VCU 4-1 and Marist 9-3.
Maryland was swept by LSU by scores of 5-1, 5-1 and 14-3.
Preseason ACC favorite N.C. State dropped its opener to Appalachian State 6-3, and then had the next two games cancelled by snow. They fell two spots to No. 10 in BA's rankings. Sophomore left-handed ace Carlos Rodon suffered his first career loss, roughed-up for five earned runs and three homers.

Next weekend’s opponent Wright State (2-0) swept a doubleheader in the Ron Fraser Classic in N.C., 8-3 over Temple and 9-5 over La Salle.
No. 7 South Carolina (2-1) had its share of struggles over the weekend against Liberty. They were outhit in game one, 8-5, but held on to win 4-3. In game two and the start of a Sun. doubleheader, the Gamecocks trailed 7-0 and rallied for an 8-7 victory. And in the finale, the Flames jumped on them early and pulled it out, 3-2.

The ACC's mid-week schedule includes seven contests. Virginia will play St. Peters on Monday and William & Mary on Tuesday; UNC is at home against Coastal Carolina on Monday; Georgia Tech is at home against Georgia State, while Florida State hosts Jacksonville on Tuesday. In another Tuesday game, Wake Forest plays at Western Carolina. On Wednesday, Miami plays at Florida Atlantic.
