Step one is done - Florida State has advanced to the National Championship Game to officially open up a spot in the Orange Bowl.

Along the way, No. 14 Northern Illinois went down this weekend to give BCS hopefuls like Clemson one more top destination to vie for.

As it stands now, the ACC Tigers are likely south Florida-bound, but you want Bama? Well, that's probably not on the docket anymore.

In the Big Ten title game, Michigan State knocked off 12-0 and No. 2 Ohio State to clinch a Rose Bowl bid, and also send SEC champ Auburn to Pasadena to meet the 'Noles.

The Orange Bowl has the top at-large selection still and Alabama is the top at-large team, but by BCS rules, the Sugar would have to sign off on the top SEC team (Alabama) heading to Miami. That's not likely.

Ohio State then becomes the shoe-in pick for the Orange with the best record, a big fanbase and going to their first bowl in two seasons.

Hmmm. No mention of the gamecocks. I guess beating the Tigers was their big game. Nice...

Is there an Out House, um, I mean, Outback Bowl?

•GO TIGERS!!!•

Unless they are playing in a smaller bowl vs the ACC, we won't see their name. With Missouri, Auburn and Alabama ahead of them, NO BCS for the chickens.

Unless Ohio State has a big game, they are not a lock for the NC yet.

Lets not be so Quick to make fun of a team that has beat us 5 yrs in a row and ranked higher than we are......I would have much rather beat them than to have a BCS BOWL GAME that we will more than likely lose.

OSU gives us what we can not handle and that is a very mobile QB. Hopefully they are heart broken. All our embarrassing loses have had good running QBs.

Our last embarrassing loss came from turnovers. If we can hold on to the ball and play our game i have no worries about playing Ohio state

I don't see a BCS rule that says Sugar needs to sign off to allow an SEC team to play in Orange. Alabama is not an SEC champion. Did I miss something?

LOL. You Clemmers are hilarious. It really doesn't matter what bowl the Gamecocks go to. They will show up at a decent bowl, with at least a chance to win. Just something quickly for you. See if you can follow this:31-17, 27-17, 34-13,29-7, 37-17. Get it? 'Nuff said. Wishing you and yours another WVU experience in Miami. Good luck...you gonna need it.

I think we have a better chance with Ohio State than against Alabama. I believe that THE OSUS was overrated and so was our Tigers. As a match up between what I believe should have been two 10 - 25 ranked teams, I am happy and look forward to the Orange Bowl.

I also agree with RADTIGER - lets not make fun of USC till we beat them in football. They have beaten us 5 years in a row and are ranked higher that us. I would have preferred beating USC than a BCS Bowl which only increases Dabo's bonus.

It is a very positive matchup. The publicity, build up and challenge for the team is very healthy. Lets go finish this year chomping the buckeyes.
GO TIGERS

No, we Clemson fans cant say anything about the dirt peckers right now, but at some point their streak against us will end and the tigers will have one of their own like they always do. At that point the cocklovers will have to come to realization that they just had the best period in the history of their program and all they have to show for it is a measley win streak over us and a few minor bowl wins.

And just how many major bowl wins does Clemmens have recently? How many wins over the dirt peckers recently? You have as much chance to beat OSU or 'Bama as Furman would. I see a WVU experience in your near future. Until you folks stop drinking Dumbo's orange Kool-Aid and looking thru purple glasses, you will be drubbed by good teams. You also need to get much better on both sides of the line, and learn to play 4 quarters. Morris's smoke and mirrors offense doesn't work against better teams.

yeah.....but would you rather be whatever the F you said.....or just be the same old phony troll that you always have been, are, and always will be??

No we havent won a big bowl lately or against SC, but that can change real soon. Its gotta hurt as a SC fan knowing that you blew the best chance you'll likely ever get to winning the SEC. And to top it off you lost out to a bottom rent Big 12 team in only their second year in the SEC. How exactly does a team like Mizzou come into the SEC East and in only two years do something that took you guys 20 years to do? And they even had the tougher conference schedule.

If all you have to comment on is what bowl USC is going to on a Clemson website. Then USC is just s much in your head as they are in Dabo's. To even comment on them and open the door for the onslaught of comments surely to follow is at best foolish. Get a win against them first, otherwise your just sounding like a sore looser.
