The odds were stacked against the Tigers from the get-go.
Although Clemson made a strong run, Lake Charles, La. wide receiver Trey Quinn on Sunday announced that he has opted for LSU over Clemson.
Quinn decided to go with the in-state favorite after eliminating a national field and narrowing his choices to the two Tigers.
Where does his decision leave Clemson in regard to its 2014 recruiting class?
The Tigers currently have commitments from two four-star wideouts - Demarre Kitt of Tyrone, Ga. and Artavis Scott of Tarpon Springs, Fla. Clemson also will reserve a 2014 spot for 2013 signee Kyrin Priester of Snellville, Ga., who plans to enroll in January after spending the fall at Fork Union Military prep school in Virginia.
Clemson still has offers out for uncommitted 2014 wide receivers Trevion Thompson of Durham, N.C., Josh Malone of Gallatin, Tenn., Malachi Dupree of River Ridge, La., Jamil Kamara of Virginia Beach, Va., Trevon Lee of Forth Lauderdale, Fla., Braxton Berrios of Raleigh, N.C., Quinton Flowers of Miami, Fla., and Blake Bone of Woodruff, S.C.
