Former Clemson star and U.S. record-holder Brianna Rollins breezed into the 100-meter hurdles semifinals on Friday during the competition at the IAAF World Championships in Moscow.
Rollins' preliminary time of 12.55 (well off the 12.26 she ran in the USA Championships last time out) led the field and easily won the fifth opening heat.
She will compete in one of three semifinals on Saturday, and earned a preferred spot in lane-four.
Claiming the second qualifying spot for the semifinal was reigning Olympic champion Sally Pearson of Australia, who turned in a season-best mark of 12.62 seconds. Other heat winners were Angela White of Canada (12.93), Queen Harrison of the U.S. (12.95) and Tiffany Porter of Great Britain (12.72).
