We’re just four weeks from Clemson and Georgia kicking off the 2013 season in Death Valley. Here’s a sampling of the Tigers’ mindset 28 days out:
Clemson junior DT Josh Watson
Georgia game: It is the biggest game in the country. It’s going to be really exciting. This might be the most exciting home game that I’ve been a part of. Gameday? You can’t really beat it. Night time, hopefully have a different result than our last couple night games here. Can’t forget that. Definitely excited for Georgia.
Bulldogs’ offensive personnel: (Todd) Gurley their running back is a load. Great, probably Heisman quarterback in (Aaron) Murray. A couple (good) wide receivers and they have the whole returning o-line so it’s definitely a tall task for us, but we’re looking forward to the challenge.
Clemson sophomore safety Travis Blanks
Handing the hype: It’s all about being humble. We have to have a humble spirit on this team because all of the national talk means nothing if we go out there and lay an egg in the first game. Me personally, I stay out of the media. I don’t really care what anybody says. That’s going to be vital to our success in how humble that we remain so that we can get better.
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney
Swinney: 'We respect every opponent'
Game-in, game-out mindset: We respect every opponent. Every opponent has our ultimate respect because anybody can’t beat anybody on any given day. What we try to more focus on is ourselves. That’s what we control…If we can commit to the standard of being the best we can be, you can live the results on gameday, regardless of who you play.
Clemson senior QB Tajh Boyd
Expectations going in: It’s not really any pressure when you’re prepared and you’re confident. For us, that’s what we’re trying to do. We’re trying to prepare as much as possible so that we’re confident when we go out on that field. Pressure is one of those things that you put on yourself.
It’s going to be an unbelievable feeling when this game is played on August 31st. It’s going to be an unbelievable feeling every time we step on that field.
