Who Got The Snaps? Linemen go the distance on offense, rotate on defense

Safety Jonathan Meeks leads all defensive players with 60 snaps; two first-year freshmen play

A total of 52 players saw action in Clemson's opening 26-19 victory over Auburn - 21 on both offense and defense and 10 on special teams only.

All of the Tigers' five starting offensive linemen went the distance - 89 snaps - except for right tackle Gifford Timothy, who came out of the game for one play and was replaced by Shaq Anthony.

On the defensive front, DeShawn Williams (41 snaps), Grady Jarrett (37) and Josh Watson (29) worked in rotation, while first-year freshman D.J. Reader was in the game for six plays.

Reader was one of just two first-year freshmen to see action, along with Travis Blanks, who logged 23 snaps as a defensive back.

At defensive end, Malliciah Goodman (55) and Corey Crawford (51) got the majority of the playing time, ahead of Tavaris Barnes (10) and Vic Beasley (12).

Linebackers Stephone Anthony and Tig Willard had 56 snaps each, while safety Jonathan Meeks led all defensive players with 60.

Six wide receivers saw action, led by Nuk Hopkins' 82 snaps.

Andre Ellington played 67 snaps at running back, while D.J. Howard and Rod McDowell combined for 17.
