COLUMBIA, S.C.—The Clemson women’s diving team was beaten by a pair of Southeastern Conference opponents on Friday. The Tigers fell at the hands of Florida by a score of 25-13 and lost to South Carolina by a count of 26-12. In diving-only scores, Clemson is now 1-3 for the season.

"The Tiger divers fought hard today,” coach Leslie Hasselbach Adams said. “We saw great competitive improvements from the ladies. Now it's time to refocus our energies for our first invitational of the semester."

Juliana Melchionda’s score counted for the Tigers in both diving events. She finished seventh in the one-meter with a score of 227.40 and seventh in the three-meter with a score of 254.00. Elsewhere, Elizabeth Tatum scored fourth for the Tigers in the one-meter with a mark of 241.60, and Emily Howard placed sixth in the event with a score of 231.40. In addition, Chelsea Uranaka ranked fifth in the three-meter with a score of 256.10, while Megan Helwagen placed sixth in the event with a score of 255.55.

The Tigers will hit the pool next at the three-day Cougar Invitational in Houston, TX that begins on Thursday, November 15.

This is really funny to read. It says the Tigers are 1-3 in Diving only... But that isn't an NCAA scored sport. The sport is Swimming and Diving. See the rule book - it can be downloaded for free on this site: http://www.ncaapublications.com/p-423...

Coach Adams saw real competitive improvements today – is that because there wasn’t a paid comedian on deck and she wasn't “teaching” fans about this revolutionary sport to hit Clemson? Even though it has been there since the early 1900’s?

So what is their record in sports that are recognized by the NCAA and you can win Championships in?
