No. 13 South Carolina starting quarterback Connor Shaw practiced Wednesday after missing the first two days of workouts this week because of a sprained foot. But QB coach G.A. Mangus wouldn't say Shaw's the definite starter heading into Saturday's 7:15 p.m. game at No. 12 Clemson.

"He threw it around a little bit tonight," Mangus said. "We'll see how he does (today). It was good he did move around a lot better today than he has. He'll be ready to roll (in today's practice)."

Mangus said it's taking time for the injured foot, which Shaw has been dealing with for several weeks, to heal up after he tweaked it against Wofford.

The Gamecocks will continue monitoring Shaw's status, possibly up until game time, and Dylan Thompson would get the start if Shaw is unable to play.

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney also practiced Wednesday and is expected to go Saturday; it's the second consecutive day he's worked out after missing all of last week, including the Wofford game, because of a bruised foot and knee.
