Clemson continued to build recruiting momentum for its class of 2013 with the surprise commitment of four star defensive end Elijah Daniel on Sunday, the final day of Dabo Swinney's high school camp.
Daniel, from Avon, Indiana, and making his first visit to Clemson, became the Tigers' ninth commitment for 2013, and its seventh defensive player.
The 6-4, 250-pound Daniel is ranked as the nation's No. 4 defensive end by Scout, No. 6 by ESPN and No. 13 by Rivals. He was scouted earlier this spring by Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables.
Schools to offer Daniel included Florida, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee.
Daniel is the younger brother of Georgia defensive end Montez Robinson and Marshall linebacker Armonze Daniel.
