— Clemson should have a key piece in place for Tuesday’s middle-of-the-ACC-pack match with Maryland.

Coach Brad Brownell said today that junior forward Miton Jennings is expected to return for the 7 p.m. home game with the Terrapins.

Jennings has missed the last two games serving an “indefinite” suspension connected to academic issues.

“He’s going to be back practicing today,” Brownell said. “He’ll be back tomorrow if I think he’s ready. We’ll need him at some point. It depends on how practice goes today.”

Jennings averages 8.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He has started 15 games this season, but has been suspended twice, serving a one-game suspension for an on-court outburst during Hawaii’s Diamond Head Classic.

He didn’t travel with the Tigers to losses at Virginia or Virginia Tech and didn’t practice with the team last week.

“We met yesterday and talked out things,” Brownell said. “He’s back and ready to go.”

Brownell said that if Jennings returns, he would not start. Freshman K.J. McDaniels started in his place Saturday at Virginia Tech and had a career-high 14 points and five blocks.

It's a better team without him on the floor. Sure he averages 9 and 5 but he cancels that out with turnovers, awful fouls, and terrible shots! He still thinks he's a guard. Maybe the worst mcdonalds all-american ever...
