Football Recruiting - Demarcus Robinson

As it turns out, Demarcus Robinson's word was worth, well, to Clemson, nothing.

Robinson, a four-star wide receiver from Peach County, Ga. who had been committed to Clemson since attending Dabo Swinney's camp last summer, has reversed course and committed to Florida.

Robinson had recently wavered on his decision for Clemson. Multiple recruiting websites reported his switch on Wednesday.

The loss of Robinson leaves Clemson with two wide receiver commitments for the class of 2013 - Ryan Jenkins of Marietta, Ga., and Mike Williams of Lake Marion, S.C. Clemson is still actively recruiting Marquez North of Charlotte, N.C., who is the nation's No. 2 rated wideout.

Robinson is the fifth wide receiver commit in Florida’s 2013 class joining Ahmad Fulwood of Bishop Kenny (Jacksonville, Fla.), Marqui Hawkins of Carver (Columbus, Ga.), Alvin Bailey of Armwood (Seffner, Fla.) and Chris Thompson of Gainesville (Fla.).

Why would you enter into a class that already has 4 recievers in it? School choice is very important, but if I committed to a school and I make the #5 reciever, I might need to look at the bigger picture. Clemson has 2 pro recievers they'll lose after next year.......playing time!!! Go wear the gator hat backwards and send me your tiger jacket.

This has been a tough recruiting cycle for us. We keep loosing quality people without replacing them. We still have a long way to go before we can complete talent wise with the UA's, LSU's etc.. Unless we can win these recruiting battles with UF, UGA, SCAR, etc., we will never get to our goal of a being a perennial powerhouse. We must have a top 10 recruiting class every year and that means THIS YEAR! Come On Dabo, show us the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clemson has a real shot at the top 15 if we reel in Adams and North and Crowder. Top ten if we were to get 2 of them and add the #2 defensive end outta Ga whose name escapes me. Also..Im not conceding that we are completely done with Big Rob.

Hush with the small minded talk. Demarcus is from south GA and is a baller. I'll continue to wish him the best.... I've been a fan of him and Peach County's high school program.

We need Marquez North now!!

I glad he changed up and went to Fla. I don't think he could have made the grade to attend a ACC school.

Thanks for your optimism. I hope you are right and that Dabo can work his recruiting magic. Where we really need help is our defense. We have a long and illustrious history of studs in the trenches and we need to continue that tradition. Most games are won in the trenches. We must be a team that owns the line of scrimmage.

It's the SEC exposure that they will get. They got Peachtree TV, CBS, ESPN (FOR SURE) and every now and then FOX Sports South. The ACC has the ACC Network, sometimes on ESPN, every blue moon on FOX Sports South, and ABC. The SEC have the bigger TV markets for any player that has a "HEY LOOK AT ME ATTITUDE." To a teenager, that makes their eyes and egos sky-rocket!

Maybe that's why he's going to Florida. He saw there's too much competition dealing dope at Climpsun with Sammy Potkins already there.

Kids want to play in front of people. Every game in the SEC is in a football cathedral. You can play in front of 80k+ people every week at a minimum in the SEC and be on TV or you can travel to Duke and play on a field with a track around it. Not a tough choice.

Kentucky has a football cathedral? And vanderbilt?
And usc? It looks like a cockroach flipped on its back and left to die?

kellytown writes:

The reason he chose fla. is because the SEC lets the pot heads keep on playing instead of suspending them!!!Yea thats right. Its all about winning with out any consequences. maybe the coaches in the SEC should run for sheriff of thier county or parris that way they can spend more time with their players.
