Wesley Goodwin will move from behind the scenes to on the field as the Tigers continue preparations for their Chick-fil-A Bowl date with LSU without secondary coach Charlie Harbison.
Harbison, after coaching during the Tigers' opening bowl practice Saturday morning, later in the day accepted the position of co-defensive coordinator on Gus Malzahn's staff at Auburn.
Goodwin, 27, has been with the Clemson coaching staff for three years, working as a video assistant and in 'defensive research development.'
Former Clemson defensive back Brian Mance, another graduate assistant, will continue working with the secondary, as well.
Dabo Swinney has begun the search for a new secondary coach, but has announced no timetable for a hiring.
A 2007 graduate of Mississippi State, Goodwin began his coaching career as a grad assistant at Mississippi State and then joined Dabo Swinney's staff in 2009.

I do not know Wesley Goodwin. Never heard of him.
May be great. Has he ever played a down at DB, at any level? Doubtful. Not required, but can be helpful.
At least he can probably tell them to cover a receiver, look for the ball, catch it, and so on. And tackle the guy with the ball.
These are things Charlie Harbison seemed unable to communicate to his squad.

I say give Brian Mance a look, after all, he was a decent DB at Clemson
