Clemson and Davidson played to a 0-0 tie in a men's soccer match at Davidson, NC Monday night.
Clemson is now 1-0-1 on the year, while the match opened the 2012 season for the Wildcats.
In the first half, Clemson came out as the aggressor, taking three shots and four corner kicks in the first 13:20 of the game. None of Clemson's shots in the first half were on goal, however.
In the second half, Clemson's offense again started with a lot of fire-power as the Tigers took three shots and one corner kick in the first eight minutes of play.
Davidson goalkeeper Matt Pacifici made three saves in the final 16 minutes to keep the Tigers off the board.
Davidson put two attempts on goal early in the first overtime period. The Wildcats'Brian McGue took a shot that was saved by Cody Mizell in the 93rd minute of play, and moments later, Mizell made another save on a shot by Luke Blades.
Each team managed just one shot in the second overtime period.
Clemson will participate in the Indiana Invitational this weekend in the Tigers' next action. The Tigers will play Indiana on Friday evening and Notre Dame on Sunday.
