Two former havoc-makers on Clemson's defensive line - Andre Branch and Jarvis Jenkins - had sacks during their NFL teams' weekend exhibition games.
Jenkins, who is working his way back into the Washington Redskins' starting rotation after missing his rookie season with a knee jury, had two tackles and a solo sack in the Redskins' 33-31 loss to Chicago.
Branch, a rookie who was Jacksonville's second-round draft pick, shared a sack in the Jaguars' 27-24 victory over New Orleans.
Jacoby Ford had two catches for 21 yards and three kickoff returns for a 22.0 average in the Oakland Raiders' 31-27 loss to Arizona. Ford, however, suffered a sprained foot late in the game and is expected to be sidelined for the rest of the preseason. An MRI showed no structural damage on Ford's foot - the same one he sprained last season that forced him to miss six games. He may be able to return in time for the Raiders' opener against San Diego on Sept. 10.
Nick Eason had one tackle for the Cardinals against the Raiders.
Jamie Harper rushed nine times for 41 yards, including one 21-yard run, in Tennessee's 30-7 win over Tampa Bay. Harper also caught two passes for 26 yards, including a 19-yarder.
C.J. Spiller was held to negative yardage on three touches - two carries and a reception - in Buffalo's 36-14 loss to the Vikings.
Chris Clemons made six tackles and forced a fumble in Miami's 23-17 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Michael Palmer caught two passes for 24 yards in the Atlanta Falcons' 24-19 loss to the Bengals.
Leroy Hill made three tackles and recovered a fumble in Seattle's 30-10 victory over Denver.
Charlie Whitehurst completed seven of 12 passes for 122 yards, including touchdown tosses of 18 and 38 yards, in San Diego's 28-20 victory over Dallas.
Dwayne Allen had two receptions for 18 yards in the Indianapolis Colts' 26-24 setback to the Steelers.
Ricky Sapp missed the New York Jets' game against the Giants with a high ankle sprain, but expects to make his preseason debut this week against the Panthers.
