Clemson’s Dwayne Allen and Sammy Watkins have been named first-team All-Americans by Sports Illustrated – Allen as a tight end and Watkins as a kick returner.
Watkins also received honorable mention honors as a wide receiver.
Tiger defense end Andre Branch was named to the second team, while quarterback Tajh Boyd and center Dalton Freeman joined Watkins as honorable mention picks.
LSU and Alabama each placed four players on Sports Illustrated’s first team.
Clemson was one of three schools with two first-team selections, joining Oklahoma State and Southern California.
Also named to the first team were linebacker Luke Kuechly of Boston College and defensive end Melvin Ingram of South Carolina.
