Dalton Zimmerman – His 51.2 average on four punts was Clemson’s best in 27 years and tied for the third best in history. His 79-yard punt in the second quarter was the second longest in school history, surpassed only by Mitch Tyner’s 81-yarder against Texas A&M in 1973.
Marcus Gilchrist – He looked dangerous every time he touched the ball on kickoff and punt returns, and shared the team lead with eight tackles.
Coty Sensabaugh – His interception in the third quarter helped protect a 21-7 Clemson lead.
Byron Maxwell – His interception in the end zone snuffed out a late threat by the Mean Green, and he also had six tackles and caused a fumble.
Chandler Catanzaro – He didn’t get to try a field goal, but was 5-of-5 on PATs in his first career game.
Brandon Clear – His 70-yard touchdown reception showed season-long playmaking potential.
Bryce McNeal – His first career reception went for 30 yards.
DeAndre Hopkins – The true freshman caught the first pass of his career, and he delivered several impressive downfield blocks.
Rashard Hall – He matched the eight-tackle total of Marcus Gilchrist and Da’Quan Bowers and had one tackle for loss.
Jarvis Jenkins – Of his five tackles, three came behind the line of scrimmage, including a sack.
