Against Florida State, the Tigers kept the football, moved the chains by converting half of their third-down chances, and racked up nearly 400 yards in total offense.
Clemson's offensive success (outside the red-zone) was reflected by player participation against the Seminoles, as eight players – all on the offensive side of the ball – set or matched season-highs for snaps.
Five players, including four offensive linemen and quarterback Kyle Parker, were in the game for all of the Tigers' 86 offensive plays. Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins played all but two snaps.
Those recording season highs were offensive guard David Smith (86), Hopkins, wide receivers Jaron Brown (65) and Bryce McNeal (61), running back Jamie Harper (77), and tight end Brandon Ford (16). Players who matched season-highs set against Auburn were Parker, Dalton Freeman, Chris Hairston, and Landon Walker.
On defense, Jonathan Willard stepped in for Brandon May, who was sidelined with a concussion after playing just four snaps, and was on the field for 26 plays – his high since the season opener against North Texas.
The Tigers utilized 18 players on defense, all of whom except Maye played at least 15 snaps; and 18 on offense, all of whom except tight Drew Traylor (7) and wide receiver Brandon Clear (2) played at least 16 snaps.
Seventeen Tigers saw action only on special teams.
Available players who did not see action included linebackers Justin Parker and Spencer Shuey, defensive back Darius Robinson and wide receiver Xavier Dye. Missing the game because of injuries were defensive back Carlton Lewis, defensive end Kourtnei Brown, running back Andre Ellington and linebacker Daniel Andrews.
